Big data can provide insights to complement or even replace costly survey data. The objective of this project is to set up an information system that analyzes online job advertisement data, a type of big data, to understand the changing pattern of demand for skilled labor. 

Objectives of the study are to construct a measurement of urbanization overtime using publicly available satellite images, characterize the interaction between connective infrastructures (the Thai-Laos friendship bridges), industrialization, and local urbanization pattern and synthesize policy implications for the future connective infrastructure development in the GMS region

Following the enactment of the Innovative Education Zone Act, the TDRI research team has been tracking change in ministerial regulations and school management processes mandated by the Act. The research team also gathered existing regulatory burdens from local educators and administraors and prepared local policy recommendations for the Provincial Committee of Srisaket Innovative Education Zone to use the Act to “unlock” those regulatory burdens. 

TSQP’s core learning outcome assessment is the formative assessment tool development project, which aims to develop the 21st century skills (critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and creativity) for K3,6,9 students. Although it is a design-based research, the research still aligns with the principles of developing the learning measurement and learning assessment because the standard and quality of assessment tool are not compromised. With a mix of teachers’ need and quality of tools, many teachers and an expert such as education evaluator are invited to be parts of this tool development. With participation of stakeholders, the workshop was just conducted for gathering and brainstorming the idea of key behaviors and assessment tools. As the result, it is expected that teachers will have new alternatives of formative assessment tools. Furthermore, this will enhance the learning assessment policy to be more diverse to serve students with different needs.

The study aims to understand the current situation and evaluates the safety impact of seat belt policy in Thailand, particularly in public transport, passenger cars, and pick-up trucks, for both front and rear seats. The critical process composes of review.

The Stock Exchange Commission has launched a pilot project in conducting a regulatory impact assessment exercise for planned amendments of existing regulations and issuance of new rules.  In order to ensure that the in-house assessment is unbiased, TDRI has been commissioned to   take on the role as the outside advisor.

The objectives are to understand current situation Thailand labour market as well as employment  in integration policies in Thailand, especially in immigration employment;  to assess the demand for labour in selected prohibited sectors of employment for foreign workers; and to provide key issues requiring and policy recommendation for related stakeholders.

The objectives of this paper are to describe and compare agricultural development, sources of growth and transformation in agriculture and food value chains in Thailand and Malaysia. Secondly, it analyses the government policies and institutions that affect agricultural transformation. Finally, major challenges and some policy implications are discussed.

This study aims to identify gaps or barriers in the implementation of laws, policies, and measures relating to the prevention of and response to sexual harassment in workplace in Thailand with specific focus on women migrant workers, as well as to provide policy recommendations/guidance for the prevention of and response to sexual harassment in workplace in Thailand with specific focus on women migrant workers.

This action-oriented research aims to find the practical step-by-step approach for ASEAN to make social security benefits portable between member states through bilateral social security agreement (SSA). The methodology includes workshops, and in-depth discussions with the potential country(ies).

This project is to study the form of social security system for self-employed workers that can meet the changes and challenges of the job market. The study base on the analysis of changes in non-routine work, the risks that labor will come out of the protection system, the needs of self-employed workers in various sectors, attitudes of the new generation to the occupation and motivation to get into the social security system. The study of these issues will lead to policy suggestions and ways to change the social security system that meet the changes in new work models for both self-employed workers and workers who are at risk from the changing in the job market.

The project aims to study the Thai population’s situation who lack financial planning in daily life in every age group. The practical measures to promote financial planning will be explored by experimental research in this project and to prepare for a longevity society. Also, the project includes advocating and promoting measures in societies.

This project is to examine some selected development projects under the 12th National Economic and National Development Plan, how well they contributed to the inequality reduction, using policy design and policy implementation framework for evaluation. Six criteria are employed in the evaluation: (1) whether the project has clear objective to reduce inequality, (2) stakeholder’s involvement, (3) equal accessibility, (4) additional support for disadvantaged group, (5) preventing exclusion error, and (6) other specific criteria for each project. The finding is that most of indicators have not yet been achieved especially the recent economic growth tended to non-inclusive, meaning that are increasing fraction of Thai population failing to benefit from the economic expansion. The disadvantaged population encounter healthcare and education disparity and accessibility challenge to basic public services such as social protection, and judicial process. The study proposes three sets of policy recommendation: making growth process more inclusive, increasing the likelihood to achieve the three policy objectives, and improving policy design and policy implementation at development project level.

Many research has shown that socio-economic status attributed to equity in health outcome. This is so called social determinant of health.  In this project, we focus on health related issues of population with disadvantage socio-economic status.
